Rachel Liger, MS, RD
Registered Dietician
Rachel is a Registered Dietician and has extensive experience in nutrition therapy associated with eating disorders and weight management. She has worked in a variety of eating disorder treatment settings including inpatient, outpatient and residential. She has developed nutrition programs for the eating disorder tracks at both Del Amo Hospital and Oceanaire Residential Treatment Center. Rachel recently completed an 11-year position as Director of Nutrition Services at the Center for Discovery, where she created a nutrition program that now extends to the Center’s eight residential facilities.
Rachel utilizes innovative approaches and paradoxical methods for the education and re-feeding of malnourished individuals. In addition, she lectures professionally in the community and serves as an adjunct professor at California State University, Long Beach. At CSLB, Rachel designed and implemented an original clinical trial study on the effectiveness of the dietician for weight loss management when medications are used. Her skills were recently highlighted in her appearance on the E! Network’s television series, What’s Eating You.
